Will filing a claim raise my rates?
A weather-related claim is handled differently from an at-fault claim, but rate behavior varies by carrier and by state, and no contractor can promise you what yours will do. Ask your agent directly before you file — and if the damage is minor enough that a repair makes more sense, we'll say so.
Can you cover my deductible?
No, and you should walk away from anyone who says they can. In most states it's insurance fraud, it voids your claim, and it puts the homeowner on the hook — not just the contractor. We'll help you finance a deductible. We won't pretend it disappeared.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most residential asphalt roofs are a single day — tear-off in the morning, dry-in by midday, finished before dark. Larger, steeper, or multi-layer roofs and metal systems run longer. You'll get a real timeline in writing before we start, not a guess on the phone.
What happens to my landscaping and my driveway?
Tarps over beds and shrubs, plywood where equipment sits, and a magnetic sweep of the yard and drive before we leave — then again the next morning. Nails in tires are the number one post-roof complaint in this trade and it's an avoidable one.
Do you do the interior repairs too, or just the roof?
Both — the "& Remodeling" in the name is real. Ceiling and drywall repair after a leak, siding, soffit, fascia, windows, decks, and full kitchen and bath work. One contractor, one warranty conversation, no finger-pointing between trades.
What warranty do I get?
Two separate things: a manufacturer warranty on the materials, and our workmanship warranty on the installation. They cover different failures, and most homeowners find that out the hard way. We'll walk you through both in writing before you sign anything.
Do you work outside Huntsville proper?
Yes. Madison, Harvest, Monrovia, Meridianville, Hazel Green, New Market, Big Cove, Owens Cross Roads and Gurley are all routine for us, and we run out to Athens, Decatur, Hartselle and Scottsboro for full replacements and storm work. If you're on the edge of that, call and ask — the answer is usually yes.
Is a FORTIFIED roof worth it in Madison County?
Alabama law requires insurers here to discount the wind portion of your premium for a certified FORTIFIED roof, so it can pay for part of itself over time — but inland discounts are smaller than coastal ones, and the exact number is your carrier's call. Ask your agent what they'd credit before you commit. Worth pricing while the roof is already off; much more expensive as a separate project later.
Another contractor already looked at it. Why call you?
Get the second opinion. A free inspection costs you nothing and either confirms what you were told or catches what got missed. If their scope is solid, we'll tell you to go with them.
